The US agrochemical company, Gowan (Yuma, Arizona), has received approval for its fungicide, Gavel 75DF (zoxamide 8.3% + mancozeb 66.7%), in the state of California. It is for the control of late blight (Phytophthora infestans) and downy mildew on potatoes, tomatoes, grapevines and cucurbits. Gowan acquired the zoxamide business from Dow AgroSciences in 2008 (Agrow No 548, p 1). Gavel has been registered in other parts of the US since 2001.
